End Times + REVELATION Class - Woodbridge Community Church

Pastor Michael Cranford is teaching an adult Sunday school class from 12:15-1:30 PM in Building B1-4. Bring in food provided by our hospitality ministry in the courtyard!

We will be studying the biblical picture of the end times, trying to understand what Jesus meant when he told us to remain alert and keep watch for his return! We will begin by exploring the kind of world Jesus said he would return to, and discuss some of the cataclysmic, technological, and moral challenges facing our world today. We will then cover excerpts from the New Testament and the book of Daniel and apply them as a framework to the book of Revelation, to gain perspective on events leading up to and following the return of Christ. We will cover topics like the Rapture, the Tribulation, the Antichrist, the Final Judgment, and the Millennial Kingdom, cross-comparing Revelation to other apocalyptic passages including Jesus’ Olivet Discourse. The class will run for approximately eight weeks (a schedule is provided below).

As part of the class, we will reflect on what it means to be salt and light in a world that is rushing toward the end. We study the end times to remind us that time is short, and we have kingdom-work to do before Jesus returns. The closer we get to that day, and the more hostility we receive from the world, the brighter we can shine as God’s servants.

Michael Cranford is Pastor of Discipleship at Woodbridge Community Church. He is also Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at Concordia University in Irvine, California. He holds a Master of Divinity from Talbot School of Theology, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Religion and Social Ethics from the University of Southern California.
