WCC’s Supported Missionaries

Ruth Cowan

Wycliffe Bible Translators, Florida

Since late 2011 after I returned from Peru, I have served in Wycliffe’s U.S. headquarters mobilizing prayer for Bible translation projects around the world. My specific role is to research and write prayer requests for translation projects (NTs, OTs or full Bibles) within 3 years of completion. We have around 300 projects in our materials called “The Finish Line,” representing over 70 partners. Praise God — all these groups are closer to having God’s Word in their heart language! BUT there are still over 2,000 language groups without one single word of Scripture in their language. If you would like to join the roughly 22,000 people signed up to regularly pray for one of those language groups, you can do so online at: www.wycliffe.org/pray . You can also sign up to be a Wycliffe Prayer Partner there and receive a monthly download edition of “The Finish Line” and other prayer helps.

Their ministry now influences college students, professional athletes, military personnel, executives and marketplace professionals. As the U.S. National Director of Leadership Development and HR, their desire is to serve Christ and our staff humbly and fully, build ministry leaders who will effectively reach their communities and campuses with the life-changing power of the Gospel, and send many out to change the world for Christ.

Eric & Lyn Taylor

Makanalani, Kauai, Hawaii

Makanalani Kids exists solely to give life-changing camps at no charge to youth who would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience such a camp. These free camps, located on 130 acres of beautiful Northshore Kauai, inspire our young visitors to leave with the seeds of change knowing that life can be different. By working alongside local churches and organizations, we are able to provide specialized camp experiences for each youth group. These partnerships are essential as we partner to shape the lives of kids and teens. Makanalani provides a peaceful environment that allows people to connect with God through exploring His creation.

Benjamin & Judith Musyoka

Mission Dispatch, Kenya

Benjamin & Judith have been serving in Kenya as missionaries since 1990 when they joined Campus Crusade for Christ International. For the first 18 years, they were training pastors and other church leaders at the Nairobi International School of Theology, now International Leadership University, a ministry of CCC. In 2008, they launched a new ministry, the Community Light Mission International through which they have been training pastors and planting churches, primarily in the rural communities in Kenya where about 80% of the pastors are untrained. Last year 2020, they launched the Africa Mission Training Institute to provide competency and wholistic based formal and non-formal training for church leaders and the youth with emphasis on the Church as the agent of community transformation, spiritually, socially, and economically.

Nick & Maia Mikhaluk

Keziah Mortiz

InterVarsity, Long Beach, California

Beach InterVarsity is an active student movement committed to knowing and experiencing God, reaching the entire campus with the love of Jesus Christ, and raising up leaders who will change the world. We hope to see every gender, ethnicity, major, fraternity, sorority, interest group, denomination, etc. on campus become transformed by the unrelenting love of Jesus. We long to see thriving communities of faith planted in every campus sub-culture – communities that believe that to be Christian isn’t to give up who we are but rather to step into the fullness of who God has made us to be.

Allison Gibson

KidZ at Heart International is a ministry that focuses on helping children fall deeply in love with Jesus by equipping and empowering leaders and teachers around the world to minister to them in their own language and cultural context. I work stateside as the VP of Communications, which means that I get to see first-hand what God is doing through our ministry and bring back the stories of His work around the world and share them with as many people as possible.

Ken Lippold

Christ Church, Los Angeles, California

We are planting Christ Church Los Angeles in Northeast Los Angeles with a vision to reach post-Christian people who live, work and play there. The heartbeat of our church is personal renewal in the gospel of Jesus Christ done through one on one evangelism / discipleship and hospitality. Our neighborhoods (Atwater Village, Silver Lake and Echo Park) are hard to reach places filled with an incredible mix of homeless and Uber-wealthy; immigrants and hip social influencers; blue collar workers and entertainers. It creates a unique context in which to bring the gospel, but we’re already seeing fruit with nearly a dozen non-Christians attending our Sunday gatherings.

Dave & Natalie H.

Operation Mobilization, Middle East

Dave & Natalie are originally from Southern California and have been ministering in the Middle East since the early 90’s. They started a ministry called R.O.C.K. Ministries (Releasers Of Christ’s Kingdom) and also lead R.O.C.K Church in the Middle East. They are involved in evangelism and discipleship amongst Arab Muslims with an emphasis on power evangelism and supernatural ministry. Additionally, they are involved in training and equipping believers/churches in the Middle East to be more effective in their evangelism and outreach. Dave is an ordained minister and they serve under the missions agency Operation Mobilization.

Jared Hall

Fellowship of Christian Athletes, California

Jared Hall has what some might call an unlikely mission-field. He can hardly believe what the Lord has done since way back in 2007 when he first joined the Orange County staff of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), the largest Christian sports organization in America. Partnering with Christian students and coaches to help them reach their schools with the gospel, FCA uses the medium of sports to draw many to Christ who have never stepped inside a church.

Dave & Joanne Beckwith

Standing Stone Ministries, Irvine, CA

As Associates with Standing Stone Ministry, we care for pastors and their wives, as well as ministry leaders and church boards. We advocate for leader care within congregations. We also serve as mentors, providing week-long one-on-one retreats for ministry couples in need of refreshment, renewal, and re-focus, with emphasis on their marriage and ministry. Our desire is to care for pastors BEFORE there is a crisis.
