Sermon notes:
1. The core value of the family of Jesus is love.
a. This originates from God’s love toward us.
b. This becomes personal in our love towards Him.
2. Christianity is not a religion, it is a relationship of love!
How do you rekindle your love for Jesus?
3. Remember your first meaningful days with Jesus.
4. Repent of walking away from Jesus.
5. Return to the things you did at the beginning with Jesus.
Review:
Looking back on last Sunday’s message and your notes, what was the most memorable part for you?
Digging Deeper:
1. What do you think your apartment complex or neighborhood would look like if everybody loved Jesus with all their heart, soul, mind and strength? Give examples.
2. Read Jeremiah 31:3; Hosea 11:4; 1 John 4:8-10; John 3:16. How is God’s love towards us described in these verses? How have you experienced God’s love for you lately?
3. Read Mark 12:28-34. In Mark 12, Jesus is in a public debate with the religious leaders of the day as they were trying to trap Him before the people and then an honest question was asked about what God wants from us the most. Jesus tells the teacher that the most important thing that God wants from us is love. Does this surprise you, why or why not?
4. How do you show God you love Him in practical ways?
5. Read Revelation 2:2-5. What do these verses say about the nature and heart of God? How could these verses be helpful for a Christian who has lost their first love? What do you do when your love for Jesus grows cold?
6. What do you think a church would look like that loved Jesus with all their heart, soul, mind and strength? Give examples. How do you think we are doing at W.C.C.?
Taking it Home:
Pray this week for Pastor Moses and his family who are our missionaries in India and who have a serious case of Covid-19.
