Follow-up Questions from Sunday:
Quick Review:
Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
Digging Deeper:
1. Read aloud the different encounters of Zachariah and Mary with the angel Gabriel in Luke 1:5-20, 26-38. How are these two encounters different from each other? What do you think we can learn about these two people from these passages and what do you think the lesson is for us from Mary and Zachariah?
2. What do you think vs. 19-20 reveal about angels in general and the person of Gabriel in particular?
3. What do you think Luke 1:38 says about the person of Mary?
4. For Mary, following the Lord isn’t based on feelings, but on a decision/choice because He is God and we are His servants. Do you agree with Mary on this, why or why not? If we were to live our lives this way, how do you think they would look practically?
Prayer:
Pray that God will help you to have a childlike faith (like Mary) of trusting and believing in God no matter your age or life experience.
