Follow-up Questions from Sunday:
Quick Review:
Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
Introduction question for groups:
If someone was to ask you to think of a “peaceful place” what would you think of? Where?
Digging Deeper:
1. How would you define the word “peace”?
2. On Sunday, Pastor Frank said, “You must be at peace with God to experience the peace of God.” What do you think this means? How do we receive peace with God?
3. In John 14:27, Jesus speaks about giving His peace to us. What do you think this means? How have you experienced this in your life?
4. In 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Paul talks about the flow of God’s peace in our lives moving from the inside out and how we are to be “sanctified” in this. Sanctification is a process. Where are you on the journey of understanding this peace?
5. Ephesians 6:15 talks about our responsibility in preparing to share God’s Gospel of Peace to the world. What do you think this means?
6. Isaiah 52:7 and Romans 10:15 talk about “how beautiful are the feet of those who bring the Good News” of God’s peace to the world. We read in Ephesians 6:15 that these feet wear Gospel shoes. What do you think are some practical ways we can ready ourselves each day to share Jesus with others?
7. What does 1 Corinthians 3:5-7 and 1 Peter 3:15 teach us about sharing Jesus with the world?
Taking it Home:
Since the “shoes of the Gospel of peace” is a spiritual weapon of Christ’s power in and through your life, spend some time this week pondering how you received God’s peace in your life. Also ask God to give you opportunities to share the love, hope, and peace that Jesus offers to the people you encounter each day.
Prayer:
Close your group with prayer this week asking for God’s peace to rule in your lives and for opportunities to share this peace with others.
