Follow-up Questions from Sunday:

Review: Looking back on last Sunday’s message and your notes, what was the most meaningful part for you?

Digging Deeper:

1. How would you define what a sign is and what it’s meant for?

2. Read Isaiah 7:1-16. What political situations was King Ahaz dealing with at this time and what do you think God was trying to tell him?

3. What do you think was the purpose of the prophetic sign that God was going to give to the king? How do you think you would have responded if you were the king at that time?

4. Read Matthew 1:18-24. Seven hundred years later Joseph had a difficult situation. How would you describe what it is and what was the purpose of the prophetic sign of Isaiah 7 for him?

5. What do you think is the purpose of the prophetic sign of Isaiah 7 for your life?

6. Why do you think God gives us prophecy? Read Isaiah 41:21-24; 42:8-9; 44:6-8; 46:9-10.

7. When God says something is going to happen before it happens and then it does (like the prophecy in Genesis 3:15; Isaiah 7 & Isaiah 53), how do you think this should impact our faith in Him? How has it impacted your life?

Taking it Home:

Have a Merry Christmas on Thursday with your family and friends. Read Matthew 1 and Luke 2 on Christmas day and think about all the blessings Jesus has and will give you in your life.
