Follow-up Questions from Sunday:
Getting to Know You:
When was the first time you lied to your parents and got caught? Please share.
Quick Review:
Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
Digging Deeper:
- Read Proverbs 6:16-19. God makes a list of some things that He hates and one of them is lies. Why do you think that is? Do you hate it when people lie to you? Why or why not?
- Who is the biggest liar that you have ever met “personally” and how did you figure out that they had a problem telling the truth?
- What would you say was the biggest lie that you believed in your life and how did it impact your life? How did you come to see the truth?
- Read John 8:31-32. What do you think Jesus is talking about in these Scriptures and how has truth set you free in your life? How have lies enslaved you?
- It has been said that if you tell the truth you don’t have to have a good memory. What do you think this saying means and do you agree with it?
- As Thanksgiving is coming up this week, what are some things that you are thankful for that happened to you this year? What people in your life are you most thankful for?
Extra credit.
Have you ever heard a spouse confront their marriage partner over unfaithfulness?
Read Ezekiel 16 and see how God does it to His people.
- would you say God is a good communicator in this chapter?
