Title of Message: God Is Your Shepherd for 2016
This morning Pastor Frank will be teaching using the 23rd Psalm. Nothing is going to happen to you in 2016 that God doesn’t know about and nothing is going to happen to you that you and He can’t get through together!
Verses used: Psalm 23, Matthew 28:18-20.
Key verse: Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Sermon Notes:
1. Discipleship happens in meaningful relationships.
As you walk with God in 2016:
2. Your heavenly Father will be protecting and providing for you.
3. You will have times of blessings and prosperity.
4. You will have times of rest and renewal.
5. He will guide you on a good path for His name.
6. Life is still going to happen and there is going to be hard days but He will never leave you!
7. Remember all His good promises for your life will happen in His time.
8. Remember this is a temporal world that we live but we have an eternal home waiting!
Some questions to consider this week:
Are you walking in a dark valley now?
Has God rescued or protected you with His rod and staff”?
What “green pastures and still waters” has He brought your way?
Who are your “enemies” today?
What would you like your cup to overflow with?
