1. In John 5, Jesus purposely sought out conflict with the religious leaders by healing on the Sabbath.
2. In John 5, Jesus does not claim identity with God the Father, but equality with God the Father.
3. God is One in essence and yet there is a plurality of the Godhead in the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Genesis 1:26-27, Matthew 28:18-20)
4. They are in perfect harmony, unity of relationship, and purpose. (John 5:19-20)
5. Jesus says that it is “truly” important that we all know who He is because “in Him” we have eternal life.
