Follow-up Questions from Sunday:
Quick Review:
Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
Digging Deeper:
1. Read John 1:1-5, 14; Philippians 2:5-11. From the definition of a Missionary above would you say that Jesus is a missionary? Why or why not?
2. If you were to describe Jesus’ mission on earth to another person, how would you do it? How has Jesus’ mission affected your life lately?
3. As a believer, receiver, and follower of Jesus, what would you say is our mission on earth?
4. In Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, He said that we are “the light of the world” and “the salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13-16). What do you think He is teaching us about our mission on earth? How have you seen this played out in other’s lives as well as your life, as of late?
5. What does Jesus tell us to do in His Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19- 20? How do you personally apply theses verses to your life?
6. If we all are on mission living out Jesus’ Kingdom principles on earth and proclaiming Him, how would you define the difference between us and a “missionary”?
7. What do you think is the biggest challenge missionaries are facing in today’s world?
Prayer:
Pray this week for our missionaries that they would have a fresh filling of the power of the Holy Spirit to continue to do what they do.
