1. Read Matthew 24:42-44; 25:1-13; and Mark 13:35-37. Following Jesus’ teaching of the Last Days, He gives parables about the need to be awake, alert, and watchful. Why do you think this is so important to Jesus? What do you think are the biggest dangers of being spiritually lazy?
2. Read Matthew 26:36-46. What emotions do you think Jesus experienced in Gethsemane? What does He ask of His disciples and what does He ask of His Father? What do you learn from Jesus’ example about “praying” in these Scriptures?
