Follow-up Questions from Sunday:

Getting to Know You: When was the last time you had pain in your body? What was it and why do you think it happened?

Quick Review: Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

Digging Deeper:

1. In John 9:1-2, Jesus’ disciples saw a blind man and basically asked Jesus why. How have you come to understand human suffering?
2. What do Genesis 3 and Romans 5:12 have to say on this topic?
3. Do you think we have any control over our own seasons of suffering?
4. What do you think Jesus means in verses 4 and 5?
5. How do you view each day you get to live and how do you think Jesus would tell you to view each day?
6. When you read John 9:8-14, what most jumps out to you? How would you describe what is happening?
7. How would you describe what is happening in verses 13-18? Why do you think the religious leaders are having such a hard time with this?
8. When you read verses 18-23, why do you think his parents acted like that? How do you think this made him feel?
9. How would you describe the attitude of the religious leaders and formerly blind man in verses 24-34?
10. How would you describe what happened in verses 35-38 and how would you summarize this man’s overall testimony?
11. How does his testimony compare with yours?

Taking it Home: Take the time to write out your personal testimony:

● How has God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Salvation, Grace/Works, Sin, Satan, etc. impacted your life? Use Scripture references. What Biblical truths did God use to draw you to Himself?
● Your personal story. Where have you been? How did the Lord call you to Himself? How is your identity continuing to be shaped in the image of the Lord? What is your present level of intimacy with Him?
● Draw a Personal Spiritual Timeline of people and circumstances that God used to bring you to Himself.
