Follow-up Questions from Sunday:
Quick Review:
Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything you heard for the first time or that caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?
Introduction question for groups:
Have you ever put a helmet on? What was the helmet and what event was it preparing you for?
Digging Deeper:
1. In Ephesians 6:17, the apostle Paul refers to us putting on the “Helmet of Salvation”. What do you think this means?
2. There are many Scriptures in the Bible about God calling us to use our minds like Isaiah 1:18, and Matthew 7:7. What has your journey been like in seeking, asking, knocking, and “reasoning” out the truth of God’s existence and your life in relation to Him?
3. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 tells us that it is our personal responsibility to use our minds to think, process, and test all things according to the truth of Scripture; that this is actually in the realm of spiritual warfare. How do you think this plays out in our everyday life? How do you think we should practice this in our walk with God?
4. If putting on the Helmet of Salvation refers to knowing/protecting our salvation as well as sharing our salvation, how can the diagram of Romans 6:23 that Pastor Frank shared on Sunday, help all of us in sharing the essence of our salvation to others?
5. As we read the book of Romans, we find the famous Scriptures—referred to by many as—“the Romans Road to Salvation”. They are Romans 3:23 “we are all sinners”, Romans 6:23 “sin brings death but Jesus comes to bring life”, Romans 10:9-13 “faith in our hearts and mouth confession brings salvation”, and Romans 5:1, 8:1, & 8:38-39 “the results of our faith in Jesus”. As you read these Scriptures how do they make you feel?
Taking it Home:
Spend some time this week memorizing Romans 6:23 and the diagram from your notes. Pray for opportunities to share this with your family and friends.
Prayer:
Close your group with prayer this week asking for opportunities to share Romans 6:23 with others.
