Sermon Notes:

  1. The church is bolder and more purified when it is persecuted.
  2. We all benefit from the sacrifice of others.
  3. Jesus came for all
  4. The church is not a building we sit in, but a movement we become a part of.

Follow-up Questions from Sunday’s Message:

Getting to Know You:

What has been a recent high point and low point in your life?

Quick Review:
Looking back on last Sunday’s message and your notes, what was the most meaningful part for you?

Digging Deeper:

  1. Who do you think are the people who sacrificed most for you growing up besides your mom and dad? Why do you think they did it?
  2. Who would you say are the people who have sacrificed most for you spiritually? Why do you think they did it?
  3. Who do you think are the people you are most sacrificing for in your life right now? Why do you do it?
  4. Read Acts 4:18-31. In the book of Acts, there is a pattern of God’s people being persecuted and the Church growing bolder and increasing.  Why do you think that is?  What do you think are the greatest dangers to the Church in America today?
  5. When you heard the story of W.C.C. last week what touched or surprised you the most?
  6. Read Revelation 5:9-13. What do these passages teach us about Jesus? What do these passages teach us about His mission and His Church?
  7. How do you think Revelation 5:9-13 should affect how we see and treat other believers from around the world and in our church?

Taking it Home:

What is one thing you can apply to your life from this message and how can this group remember you in prayer this week?

Prayer request:

Please pray that our church will value and appreciate the people that have sacrificed so we could worship at our facilities.  Pray that we, as a church family, will not grow complacent in our faith.
