Sermon Notes:
What do Christians believe?
Notes:
1. Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah.
Because of their belief that Jesus is the Messiah, the Early Church:
1. Worshipped God in spirit and truth both corporately and privately
2. Fellowshipped together
3. Grew in Discipleship
4. Ministered to each other
5. Shared their love of Jesus with others
Follow-up Questions from Sunday’s Message:
Review:
Looking back on last Sunday’s message and your notes, what was the most meaningful part for you?
Digging Deeper:
1. If someone were to ask you to describe what Christians believe, what would you say?
2. In Acts 2:14-40, Peter gave his first sermon on what Christians believe. How would you summarize his sermon?
3. In Acts 2:42-47, what did the early believers do because of their faith in Jesus?
4. The early believers were a part of corporate worship in the temple courts. What does Jesus say about worship in John 4:23-24? What implications should this have in our personal and corporate worship today?
5. How would you describe fellowship? Why do you think this is so important for us today?
6. It has been said that “discipleship” is growing intellectually and experientially in your faith. How did the early believers do this? What things do you do to grow in your own personal discipleship?
7. The Early Church ministered/served one another. Why do you think they did that? Why do you think it is important for us to be involved in some sort of ministry in our church? What do you think is the biggest blessing of serving others?
8. The early believers were not afraid to share about their love of Jesus to anyone that would listen. Why do you think it is important for us to share our faith in Jesus with others?
Taking it Home:
Spend some time this week:
Praying for our church to be who Jesus want us to be and do what Jesus wants us to do.
Praying for the leaders to stay close to God and hear God’s leading for our church.
