Sermon Notes:
What is Prayer?
- Prayer is communicating with God. (Jer. 29:12)
Common Questions on Prayer:
- Since God knows everything, why should I talk to God and tell him something that He already knows? (Psalm 139:1-4)
- Why should I talk to God and ask him to do something if He has already predestined all things?
- Is the only value of prayer the inward emotional strength it gives the person or does prayer change circumstances?
Jesus Teaches Us That:
- Prayer is the means by which God gets His will done on earth.
- Prayer cannot change the nature of God, but prayer is used by God to implement His will to change
- Prayer is not a means to get our will done in heaven but it is a means by which God gets His will done on earth!
An Exercise In Prayer Praying: A-C-T-S
