Where Do We Pray?
Title of Message: Where Do We Pray?
(Series: “Connecting: A Study Of Prayer”)
This morning, we are starting our series called “Connecting: A Study Of Prayer.” Next week we will take a look at Jeremiah 29 and discuss how it relates to our prayer life.
Verses used: 1 Kings 8:10-61, John 4:19-26, Acts 1:6-8, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Ephesians 1:13
Key verses: John 4:21-23
“Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
Sermon Notes:
What is Jesus’ point in John 4:21-23?
1. A time is coming when you can worship/pray to God effectively not at just one place but Anywhere.
2. The Holy Spirit comes in after you have been washed clean of sin.
3. You can pray anywhere effectively because the Holy Spirit dwells in you. (1 Corinthians 3:16)
4. Your body is a living temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
How do you become a temple of the Holy Spirit?
5. After listening to the message of truth and believing, you are sealed in the Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 1:13)
