Follow-up Questions from Sunday’s Message:
Getting to Know You:
What is the longest you have been without food? What was the occasion?
Quick Review:
Looking back on last Sunday’s message and your notes, what was the most memorable part for you?
Digging Deeper:
- Have everyone in your group read one verse of Acts 9:1-19 out loud. What do you think these verses teach us about the person of Paul and Jesus? How can we know Jesus better from these verses?
- Why do you think God made Paul blind for 3 days? What do you think he was thinking about during that time?
- Read Acts 9:20-22; Philippians 3:2-8. What are the values of Apostle Paul that changed immediately after his Damascus road experience? How was his life changed because of these changed values? What are your values that changed after you accepted Jesus? How has your identity been changed because of that? How did your life change?
- Read Acts 8:1-3; Philippians 3:10. It’s been said, “If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?” Have you ever experienced persecution or suffering because of your faith in Jesus? If you were vocal about your faith, how would that affect the people around you?
- If you had not met Christ, what kind of life would you be living today? What kind of person would you be? Where would you find your identity?
- Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-29; 15:9-10. The idea that God works powerfully through our weakness and suffering is a recurring theme in Paul’s letters. How did Paul learn that lesson? In what way is it both an encouragement and a warning in your Christian life?
Taking it Home:
What is one thing you can apply to your life from this message and how can this group remember you in prayer this week?
Prayer request:
Please pray that this message series will impact people’s lives, especially as each person is processing and thinking through their own testimony of Jesus and how they can be sharing it with others.
