Ingredients of Christian Joy

In the fourth chapter of the book of Philippians, Paul gives 4 ingredients that are essential for Christian joy.

We need Know and focus on the truth that the Lord is near!
We need to be prayerful instead of anxious!
a. The answer to anxiety is prayer. Talk to God!

b. We either worry or we worship!

c. Worship is connecting with God!

3. We need to be pouring in some thankfulness to God.

4. We need to control our thoughts:

a. Put your mind on the right things.

b. Put your mind on truth.

Philippians 4:4-7(NIV)

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
